tânisi nitôtêm!

Hello Friend!

Welcome to our first visit!

Our activity “Lets Go There” is for everyone - regardless of how much or how little we know about Indigenous heritage, Truth and Reconciliation, and Indigenous Protocol. This activity is for us to dispel myths and stereotypes together.

Please be aware that what you ask will be used to prepare for our in-person training to help answer some of our questions we are nervous about asking typically. However, we will NOT be including names or putting your comfort at risk.

We are dedicated to each one of you during our sessions, and there is no shame, no judgement, or anger with accepting these questions - big or small.

This is an opportunity to go there in a safe and learning environment with Honey, your Heritage Educator.

Honey Constant-Inglis

Honey is a Plains Cree member of Sturgeon Lake First Nation and operates Honey Willow nêhiyaw Studio as an Artist, Archaeologist, and Heritage Educator. Honey is Two Spirit (they/them) and has built their career on sharing their experience as a nôsisim, grandchild of Indian Residential School survivors.

Honey graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science and in 2024 with a Master of Arts – Thesis, both in the field of Archaeology. They specialize in Public Archaeology and have the privilege of working alongside educators to bring stories and colours to life.

The studio is named after the Red Willow plant and its teachings that have been passed down by their mosôm. Honey Willow focuses on initiatives and projects that honour Indigenous heritage and community care. Our work is defined within four pillars: Rooted in Colour, Building Confidence, Creating Action, and Reinventing Standards.

Today, Honey is a full time artist who enjoys spending time in community and learning about your connection to colour.

Lets Go There

Again Friend, this is an opportunity to ask any questions you have related to Indigenous heritage, protocol, or any related topic that you have been curious about. I’ve been working with community members and have seen it all! There is no shame, judgement, or anger towards any question because it is my passion to help us dispel myths between us and work towards a better understanding.

I will be reviewing our questions I can better tailor our in-person training to answer these questions. It is my honour to be a guide through these questions during our visit. This is an opportunity to go there in a safe and learning environment.

If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a note in the box below, or email me at Honey@HoneyWillow.ca.

Thank You!

I truly appreciate your willingness to participate in our activity!
