I thought I knew what they meant when they said “Children are gifts from Creator”, but it wasn’t until my sister had her baby that I learned what Good-Child Rearing truly meant to me.

Seriously, I am the second of six kids and I helped raise my siblings, I worked as a youth among youth teaching dance, Air Cadets, and even dedicated my early career to being an interpreter for school groups… Words really cannot describe how much my world has changed since I’ve watched my baby grow up and be so deeply loved.
It healed something in me… and I can appreciate the protection and love I see from my mom and my grandparents. If I think about it too much, I’m scared the feelings may slip into anger and bitterness because why couldn’t my grandparents, their parents, and everyone before them be allowed to be a family… but that is not my fight anymore.
Thank you to our survivors and their families that prove everyday that it is that easy to love - even in your own way.
This chapter fulfills the literature review requirement through exploring previous masters theses, the Truth and Reconciliations Final Report, and all relevant topics to build understanding to our end goal.
